The end of February is almost here but we have one more update to tell you about before heading into March.

We’re pumped to announce the integration of MMS Messaging in RecallMax!

What the heck is MMS you ask?? Well, it stands for Multimedia Messaging Service which is really just a fancy way of saying that in addition to text messages, patients can now send files such as images and documents to the RecallMax practice toolbar!

Here’s an example of how this feature can be a real time saver.

Let’s say you’re in need of a patient’s insurance information before their next appointment.

You would navigate to the patient Text Chat window in RecallMax and send a text message requesting the information.

 

When the patient replies to the text message, you’ll see the usual notification in the Text Chat Responses list in the toolbar.

 

Clicking the patient name in the list brings you back to the patient Text Chat window where you’ll now see the message sent to the patient (1) and the patient’s reply in the form of an attached image (2).

 

To view the file, simply click the View/Download MMS File link…

…which then opens a web browser with the option to view or download the file.

Note: The link in the browser requires an active RecallMax session to be viewed. If viewed again at a later time and not logged in to the toolbar, you will be prompted to log in with your RecallMax credentials.

 

Please also note that MMS files will be available to download from the Max toolbar for 30 days (1).

After that, the file window remains but the download link is removed (2) and a note regarding the date the link was removed is visible (3).

 

A few other important notes.

  • Acceptable MMS file types are:

    image files: jpeg, png, gif, pdf

    audio files: mp3, ogg, amr, mp4

    text files: txt

  • MMS messages can only be sent by patients. Practices will not be able to send MMS messages to patients.
