Hi everyone!

Two exciting new updates for you today! Our new MaxAssist feature and the long awaited Unscheduled Treatment list.

Dive in to the details (including an informative video) below..

Unscheduled Treatment List

You now have the ability to review, track and follow up on outstanding treatment plans with your patients directly from within the RecallMax toolbar!

The new Unscheduled Treatment Plan list which is now nestled in the middle of your Patient lists underneath your Missed/Cancelled and Missed Pre-Appointed lists.

These 3 lists combined are what we refer to as missed opportunities.

This layout of this new list will look very familiar. It will display patients that have any sort of restorative treatment planned in your scheduler within the last year.

The list is sorted with the most recent diagnosis date of the planned treatments in the scheduler, excluding today.

If a patient has multiple treatments, we display the oldest treatment within the previous year.

Patients with an upcoming restorative appointment will not be displayed.

Enabling the List Filters can make the process of working this list even easier!

You can filter your List by Treatment Plan status, Hide patients that have an upcoming appointment (of any type) and/or Hide Patients that have been contacted recently.

You’ll also notice 2 changes when you click on a patient name in this or any list.

On the patient information page, the Procedures button has been relabeled to Procedures/Treatment (1) and the shiny new MaxAssist button (2) (more on that later).

Clicking on the Procedures/Treatment button brings up this dialogue box detailing not only the details of the patient’s treatment plan but also Last Procedures and Continuing Care - enabling easier management of a wide range of information and opportunities with a patient.

The name displayed on the Continuing Care tab will change according to your scheduler. In Dentrix it’s called “Continuing Care”, in Abeldent, it will be “Contacts” and Tracker it will be “Planned Appointments”.

Using the Unscheduled Treatment list

Management of the Unscheduled Treatment list is simple.

Click on a patient name from the list and review their outstanding treatment to determine a course of action. If the plan is relevant, reach out to the patient and, as always, use the check mark to update or complete the task.

In the check mark dialogue, you’ll see the usual contact options in the lower portion of the window but the three options at the top are important.

Appointment Scheduled - You successfully booked a treatment plan appointment.

Remove from list - You would only use this option if you know for certain the patient doesn’t need the treatment ie., they have moved out of the country (you wouldn’t need to contact them).

Patient Declined & Remove from List - You contacted the patient and they declined to proceed with treatment.

Please ensure all practice staff understand the differences in these Completed Task options - it has a direct bearing on your Dashboard results!

Selecting either of the Remove from list options does not remove the patient from the treatment plan feature in your scheduler. This must be done manually.

“Star-Star” (other important items to note about this new feature)

1) This list is only reflecting treatment plans from that specific area in your scheduler. If you have a treatment associated to an unscheduled appointment (i.e. a contact, pending appointment, planned appointment, etc.,), those will be available for viewing under the Continuing Care tab.

2) A patient will be removed from this list if they are on the Restorative Short Notice, Missed Cancelled list or are on the Follow Up List for Restorative, Treatment or Predetermination designated reasons.

Also, please note that we will have a dashboard tile for this new feature available next week.

MaxAssist button

We’ve migrated the manage tasks button from the top of the screen, placed it on the patient details page and renamed it to MaxAssist.

This new button will be lit up when a patient is on lists other than the one you are currently viewing.

Always be sure to click this button when lit, it will better help you to better manage the various tasks related to one patient.

It will also help you better streamline patient communication and help reduce potential redundancies when different staff are contacting patients for different reasons in RecallMax.
